dripping threads

It can be hard to tell through photographs, but these pieces by Egyptian-born artist Ghada Amer are all made with thread and needle.  The New York-based artist uses sewing, an activity that is generally associated with women, to tackle gender and sexuality based issues.  I would love to see her work in person.  Her unique technique would no doubt be an exciting visual odyssey.

  1. I am facinated by Ghada’s work. It seems to lead the eye through a veil-like foreground into hidden depths.
    Thanks Amanda
